How long will I have to wait for my stairlift?

A stairlift with a straight track can often be in stock the next day; a stairlift with a curved track takes a little longer as the track is made bespoke to fit your staircase. However, here at Easy Lift we understand the difference a stairlift can make to your independence at home and we aim to offer the shortest market lead times.

How long does it take to install a stairlift?

The configuration of your stairlift will determine how long it takes to fit it; however most stairlifts will only take between two to four hours to install.

How will I pay for my stairlift?

With a new stairlift a 50% deposit is due on order, payment can be made to the surveyor by cash, cheque (made payble to LMC Electrical & Stairlift Services Ltd) or call the office on 01207 503600 to pay by debit card.

Would you like to spread the cost? Please ask our surveyor about our direct debit options.

Will I need to redecorate once my stairlift is installed?

Your new stairlift will be fitted to your staircase (over existing carpet), not your wall so in most cases the answer will be no. In some instances you may need to have a handrail moved or a window sill reduced in order to avoid clashes with your new stairlift, in which case some minor redecoration may be preferred.

    Share this:

How fast will the stairlift go?

Stairlifts are designed to travel at the speed governed by British Standards. This is equivalent to a gentle walking pace.

What happens if there is a power cut?

There’s no need to worry. Your stairlift is operated by batteries, these re-charge when your stairlift is left on a charge point. This means your stairlift will continue to work if the power supply is interrupted for a limited number of trips. The Handicare 950+, 950 and 1100 stairlifts will charge wherever they are left on the track.

What happens if I leave my stairlift off charge?

Your stairlift will alert you by either a flashing light or an audible beep if your stairlift is not at it’s charge point or not charging for any reason.  The power supply to the stairlift should remain switched on at all times. If the stairlift batteries are allowed to go completely flat they may need to be replaced.

What if I want a new stair carpet?

Your stairlift can be removed and refitted to allow for the laying of new carpets.  Easy Lift offer a removal and re-installation services.
